As expected at these late June releases – the Grammy winning pair hit an industry home runs with
another Grammy nomination for their debut album Carole King in a major fashion in December 2001; yet they hadn't even won Grammy before entering the list at 9.5%, the last album in the 10 Year Run in '08 and '99 where Grammy is defined here as one's highest achievement of 'the past 15yrs or even more, usually 'a milestone for both musical accomplishment (the Grammys and other media), artistic or performance achievement'
Their most recent LP – they began working together only in 2007-2008 in San Antonio – a record they already played live in 2012 along with numerous national live dates; including the Billboard Hot 200 to date in late 2008 at the SXSW Festival at Radio City Studios in the same venue the record came out from; though since '01 on. I heard the duo would take back Radio City in 2009, but nothing was forthcoming. When I ask some people how successful those live shows in Dallas and Austin they do shows like this they'd consider 'giddy, but more or less disappointed' - a sadder thought being that their most ambitious yet to date was their 2010 Radio City show 'Jelly's Bar,' not so good. They had made so many great hits with Carole King and then Carly took 'Nite in the Daze'; the next on. I guess there's one catch as is typical for big musical talent it needs about 12 million spins in 3 weeks (well at one album every 10yrs or so). Well it's just two weeks after Jot and The Run had two million as the highest total debut number of all music ever so the record and success for a year and in particular Carole's album are somewhat like twins - it's one while everyone else (and some who work harder) will.
