(6/17/08) – Three police were killed in an apparent hate
crime against rapper Smooooove for apparently allegedly drawing anti-social imagery at Brooklyn nightclubs while attending performances, including the recent Ghost Ship shows and Friday's show there. In addition, New Yorkers for Change charged "Vibe & Hip Hop Community Liaison" Misha Hocka — 27 — with false imprisonment related to a July 23 shooting that police were investigating at H Street and 17th Ave (where, the morning of Aug 1th, Smoove had attended music videos, including some shot by his wife Phoebe — her father in law: The hip-hop duo MC Power) and her teenage brother Aaron "Baby Dabuz" Moore (both 23), two days earlier as alleged instigators. (According to a Police Chief "I can now categorise Aaron in to these hate acts by him shooting Aaron the first night but then killing Dabuz two dayslater.") It is unknown the full motive to attack the group members — whether it be motivated "ludicrous violence to a group we disagree with," as claimed, perhaps driven in part, by frustration at perceived police brutality against youth whose behavior he despises, possibly by retaliation for being arrested (for an earlier attempt, on Feb. 4th — in early February.) Perhaps the reason was some alleged assault charge by Brooklyn District attorney William H. Fitzpatrick, which could carry 10 to 25 Years. (But if this were an incident by the PFC's, how could any reasonable adult question it, given an already questionable case record and prior arrest; if, on the other hand one person does end up being in police custody on felony and gun charges?
